Ideal Candidates & Eligibility
We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ready to make a difference and contribute their unique perspectives to our Chapter Committees. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting your career, submit your application.
- Any ASID member in good standing may apply. If selected for a Chapter Committee, ASID membership is required for the length of your term
- Any individual ASID members may apply including Practitioners (Professional, Allied, and Associate), Educators, Students, or Affiliate Members.
- Any ASID members who receive member benefits through an Industry, Firm, Higher Education, or Affiliate Partner membership may apply.
- Not an ASID member? You may still apply. If selected for a Chapter Committee, you are required to become an ASID member within 30 days of accepting the invitation or by June 30, 2025, whichever comes first).
Volunteer Roles
All positions are for the ASID fiscal year 2026 (FY26), which begins October 1, 2025. Selected volunteers will begin training and onboarding prior to the start of FY26.

- Chapter Committee Chair: 1-Year Term | Team Leader
- Serves as Chapter Committee leader supporting governance, operations, and the annual work plan.
- Chapter Committee Chair-Elect: 1-Year Term | Team Manager
- Supports the Chapter Committee Chair by developing meeting agendas, writing minutes, and maintaining records. Becomes Chapter Committee Chair in next fiscal year.
- Chapter Committee Member: 3-Year Term | Team Contributor
- Contributes to complete goals in the annual work plan. The scope may vary based on the Chapter Committee's purpose.
- Chapter Committee Past Chair: 1-Year Term | Team Advisor
- Serves in an advisory and leadership transition role by providing guidance and institutional knowledge to Chapter Committee volunteers.
Guidance on Other ASID Volunteer Roles
An ASID Chapter Committee volunteer’s role must align with the guidelines listed below:
- A volunteer can NOT serve parallel terms on the Chapter Board of Directors (Officer or Director-at-Large) or Chapter Committee (Chair, Chair-Elect, Member).
- A volunteer CAN serve on a Chapter Committee and National Committee in the same fiscal year. A volunteer CAN hold only 1 leadership position (Chair or Chair-elect) of either a National Committee or Chapter Committee.
- A volunteer can NOT hold more than 1 leadership position (Chair or Chair-elect) on any Chapter Committee or Task Force.
- A volunteer CAN serve on more than 1 Chapter Committee in the same fiscal year.
ASID Alabama Committees
An ASID Alabama Committee is formed to represent a specified interest area and scope of work. Chapter Committees have specific goals to support the ASID strategic plan and represent the interests of larger groups of people.
