Design Excellence Awards
The Design Excellence Awards were established to recognize the skills, creativity and innovation of the talented ASID Alabama practitioner members who inspire us all, peers and consumers alike. Held annually, the competition is typically open from January through June, with the winning entries announced at the Annual Awards Gala in September.
The Keystone Awards recognizes those individuals, both members and non-members, who have made significant and lasting contributions to ASID Alabama and our profession in the State of Alabama.
Dr. Mary Ann Potter Educator Award
The Dr. Mary Ann Potter Educator Award was established to honor the educators in our state who have provided outstanding contributions to interior design education, ASID Alabama, and who have promoted interior design professionalism within their respective programs.
2014 – Beverly Kissinger, University of Alabama
2015 – Jamie Stone, Virginia College
2016 – Dr. Shari Park-Gates, Auburn University
2017 – Perry Umphrey, Virginia College
2018 – Melanie Duffey, Ph.D., Auburn University
Daisy Bond Student Design Awards
The annual Daisy Bond Student Design Awards recognizes the skills, creativity and innovation of the talented ASID Alabama student members. The competition is open to full or part-time students in an interior design program in the State of Alabama, AND who are student members of ASID.
